Information For Authors

Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering the Africa Journal of Evangelical Theology (AJET) as the outlet for your scholarly work. Authors are encouraged to read the following guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts.


1. Scope of the Journal

AJET publishes original, peer-reviewed scholarly research in the following areas:

  • Evangelical Theology
  • Biblical Studies
  • Christian Ministry and Mission
  • Contextual African Theology

2. Types of Submissions

Submission Type Recommended Length
Research Articles 3,500–8,000 words
Book Reviews 750–1,250 words

3. Submission Requirements

Authors should ensure that manuscripts meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • The file is submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The manuscript contains:
    • Title of the paper
    • Abstract (150–250 words)
    • 4–6 keywords
    • Full text with footnotes and bibliography
Author Information

To ensure a double-blind peer review, author details should be submitted separately from the manuscript and include:
  • Full Name
  • Institutional Affiliation
  • Email Address
  • Brief Biography (highest qualification and current position)

4. Manuscript Formatting

Citation Style Footnotes and Bibliography (Turabian/Chicago Style preferred)
Font Times New Roman, 12 pt
Line Spacing 1.5 or Double Spacing
Headings Use clear, logical headings and subheadings throughout the manuscript.

5. Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) online submission platform. Where necessary, submissions may also be made via the journal's official email address, as indicated on the journal website.

Important Note:
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with these guidelines before submission. Manuscripts that do not conform to the journal's formatting or submission requirements may be returned for revision prior to peer review.
