Guidelines in Contextualization
Abstract
Contextualization holds varied meanings across missiological perspectives. For some, it represents a essential pathway to liberation from theological imperialism and serves as a key mechanism for reform and renewal within Christian mission. Conversely, others caution against the term due to its complex nuances, suggesting that evangelicals should avoid it altogether and arguing that the Gospel itself ought not to be contextualized. This paper explores these divergent viewpoints to examine the core principles and challenges surrounding contextualization.
